Well, as circumstances have happened, I am now getting around to doing something concrete about that wonderful gift all you Woebies gave me back in March - a Day Off package!
Mary did a wonderful job organizing and presenting the package and her cousin Laura was a great accomplice. I bet they had as much fun putting this together as I will have doing it! I must say, you all surprised me quite a bit! I enjoyed putting the Carnegie exhibit together and was so proud to showcase my friends and their work.
All deference to Mary's exquisite instructions, but not being one to usually follow directions, I'll be doing this in stages. Dragging out the fun for as long as I can! (Maybe it's that I can't handle a full day for myself.)
Besides the official scroll of instructions, the initial bag held a wonderful handmade cut-out card with a lovely and endearing message from all of you. Plus a camera which captured the faces of those present at the "openings" back in March
(not digital so those pictures will come later when I get them developed), a great twig pen and a super little handmade journal to record all my "Day Off" doings. I intend to fill that puppy well!
(I've photographed the contents of all the sacks, but those same contents have not all been used yet. Will continue to post pictures as I experience the remaining parts of the Day Off!)
Photo at right shows Marilyn peeking out from behind me as we are sitting on the bed in the Higher Ground lodge room - and I've just begun to read....
