MBF - Midwest Basketry Focus
MBF - Midwest Basektry Focus - has been an annual basketry conference in southeastern Indiana devoted to highlighting exceptional basketry instructors and their unique work.
Beginning in 1994, the weekend event was originally organized by Lou Volkman and Judy Dominic under JL Expresssions. The two basket friends worked together on the conference for seven years, adding preconference workshops and other exciting events.
After taking a sabbatical in 2001, Judy continued on with the conference for another five years. March 2006 saw the close of MBF as an annual event.
MBF regulars and newbies alike will miss the gathering and all its opportunities and comraderie. Judy promises that some sort of basketry/fiber event will be offered every 3-5 years or so.
