scrumbling...

...is freeform knitting and crocheting. Which means no pattern, no direction, no standard anything as far as knitting and crochet are concerned. Except, of course, the actual knitting and crochet stitches!

All knitting and crochet stitches are fair game to use in whatever fashion you like. Mix it up, change directions and yarns, switch back and forth between needles and hooks.

The word scrumble seems to have originated in Australia where fiber work continues to go crazy. Americans tend to call it free form knitting and crochet. Whatever you call it, have fun with it and enjoy!
