I’m not sure why, but August seems to be the ideal deadline month. I came home from the trip to find a local exhibit, a regional exhibit, a state exhibit, and a faculty exhibit all with deadlines – like NOW.
And, of course, the exhibits all overlap so I can’t use the same piece for multiple exhibits.
It does create a dilemma as to which piece to submit to which exhibit. A nice dilemma, to be sure, but still a dilemma.
And then, all sorts of ideas for new work start to flood in and it is waaaaaaaaaay too late to start a new piece and get images taken in time for the deadlines.
A bit frustrating, but it will all get worked out. And I’ll submit entries. And keep my fingers crossed for acceptance letters to come in the mail next month.
